Shibazi was established in 1983 (with capital of RMB 20,000) as a small workshop producing traditional hand-made carbon steel Chef's knives. Through determination, hard work and by embracing new technology and expertise in steel making, this small concern has developed over the years into the multi-faceted corporation now known as  Yangjiang Shibazi Group Co., Ltd. With a factory area of 250,000 square meters and 2000 employees, Shibazi is China's leading kitchen knife manufacturer and recognized as the Top Brand Name in China.

Shibazi have come a long way since producing carbon steel Chef's knives and are now a market leader in producing and developing their own steel materials. Various stages of innovation have been introduced by Shibazi.;
In 1993 Shibazi perfected the making of 1 piece knives without any welding.
In 1995, after studying world wide trends they introduced new designs of multi-purpose Japanese style kitchen knives, and later introduced kitchen knife sets with Chinese features. Shibazi were first in China to upgrade steel quality on domestic knives by using military grade steels and fine imported steel for their knives. Finally Shibazi made an enormous investment in their own steel manufacturing plant, allowing them to control the metallurgy and thereby the overall quality of Shibazi knives.

The research and development into building a top brand has been at the forefront of all Shibazi's endeavours and they strive to produce quality kitchen knives that meet the market demands of today.
